Comments About Our Service
The following are a selection of comments from residents, their families, carers, visitors and inspectors to our home :-
From a resident's daughter
Firstly I would like to thank you and your very dedicated team at Oriel Lodge. From the Nurses and Carers to the Cooks, Domestic Staff, Gardeners and Handyman who all work so hard to make it like home for all the residents. The care and love shown by your staff to all residents is clear for all visitors to see. In particular, I would like to thank everyone for the love and high quality of care given to my Mum each and every day. I could not wish for her to be in any other place. Rather than being a Residential Home it always appears to be like a very friendly Guest house.
After the Christmas Party
What a wonderful Christmas Party you gave to Bernard and all the residents. It takes a special kind of person to do your jobs and from the bottom of our hearts we thank you all.
From a relative
We would like to thank Tony and his team of Carers working from, and in, Oriel Lodge. They provide an efficient, effective and genuinely caring service. You can buy care, but the love with which it is given is beyond price. She did not go into a home, she was AT home and said regularly how nice it was there and how caring they all were.
Following the death of a resident
Thank you for the care and devotion which you showed to Dad over the past weeks. Neither he nor I could have wished for more.
From a previous carer
I often think about Oriel. Lovely memories, lovely people, wonderful place. Glad my career started there.
After a new resident had come to stay with us
We would like to record how pleased we are with B's progress. We have noticed the care and attention to the residents, the positive and friendly attitude of the staff and we also commend the cleanliness, together with the feeling of light and space.
From an inspector's lay assessor
The staff were cheerful and treated the residents with respect and dignity. This care spread throughout the home from Care Assistants to the Manager and Owner who all treated the residents with genuine kindness. The staff that I spoke to enjoyed their work. The visitors that I spoke to sang the praises of the home, being happy with the staff, facilities and the social activities organised for the residents.
I spoke with many of the residents, who were content with their choice of home. Some of the residents who had come from the immediate local area, knew each other, either from school or work place and some of the visitors knew other residents or their families. This contact makes for a really genuine sense of community.
A thank you card from one of our residents
Just to say thank you for a very pleasant drive in your super car. I enjoyed it very much and I saw many changes in Bath since I last went around.
You are very kind to us in your super Residential Home and we are all most grateful. I feel I can finish my long life very happily here.
From the Vicar
Thanks to all your staff and residents who always make us so welcome, whenever we call.
After a delivery of furniture
The new wardrobe is excellent. My thanks to the staff who arrange her clothes so nicely.
Following some respite care
Thanks for your care in the fortnight I had in your home. See you again sometime.
