Warms thanks to everyone who came and contributed to our successful barbeque last weekend. Hilary (our chef) put on a magnificent display and yours truly was deputised to do the cooking! Tony, who normally comes to entertain us with his music, brought his fairground organ with him. This proved to be a great success and prompted many memories from residents who had enjoyed the thrills of the fairground many years ago. The organ is powered by turning a huge wheel at the back and fortunately there were a sufficient number of volunteers to keep the music playing! Those who weren't able to attend enjoyed the photos that were taken at the time and shown on the widescreen TV in the lounge. We received an interesting phone call regarding our Yew Tree hedge. The caller asked us when we were likely to cut the hedge and if they could have the clippings. We were delighted to accept as it saved us a trip to the local recycling centre but curious as to what they were going to do with the clippings. They explained that they were a company called Griffin Yew Care and that the clippings would be put to very good use in the treatment of cancer. So not only have we got a very neat hedge we can also feel good about contributing to a very worthwhile cause. If you need any further information they can be contacted on 01225 481946.
